Charlie Brown founded the furniture store in Palmyra in 1949. The store was at the corner of Main and Olive Streets at that time. After twenty successful years, Brown's Furniture was moved in 1969 to its current location on Highway 61. "We've continuously expanded over the years to provide our customers with more selection and to allow us better buying power," states Brownie Brown. Both Brownie and Jim (Charlie's two sons) now own and operate three Brown's Furniture locations in Palmyra, Shelbina and Blue Springs, Missouri.
